Longmont Photographer
Real moments in a real Colorado town. From Union Reservoir to Main Street, I photograph the people and places that make Longmont feel like home.
Longmont is one of those Front Range towns that keeps surprising me. Every time I drive up from Boulder, I find something new: a trail I missed, a coffee shop I hadn't tried, a park with light I didn't expect. It's a great place to make photographs.
Why I Love Shooting in Longmont
I'll be honest: Longmont wasn't on my radar when I first moved to Colorado from Florida. I was focused on Boulder, the Flatirons, the mountain trails. But a friend invited me up for a youth soccer tournament at Carr Park and I was hooked. The light was great, the families were relaxed, and the mountains sat right there on the western horizon like a backdrop someone painted on purpose.
Since then, I've shot all over Longmont. Union Reservoir on a summer evening, when the water goes flat and the sky turns pink. Sandstone Ranch in fall, when the cottonwoods light up gold. Main Street on a Saturday morning, when the farmers market is going and downtown has that quiet energy that makes people feel comfortable in front of a camera.
What I Shoot in Longmont
I bring all five of my photography services to Longmont. Youth sports is a big one here. Longmont's rec leagues and club teams keep me busy from spring through fall, and I love the variety of fields and facilities around town. Family sessions are another favorite, especially at Union Reservoir and McIntosh Lake where you get water, trails, and mountain views all in one spot.
For portraits and headshots, downtown Main Street and the Longmont Museum area give me great architectural backdrops with natural light. And if you run a local business on Main Street or in the Prospect area, I can shoot your space, your team, and your products in a way that actually looks like you (not some stock photo version of you).
Outdoor and adventure sessions in Longmont take advantage of the incredible trail access. The St. Vrain Greenway runs right through town, and Button Rock Preserve and Rabbit Mountain are just a short drive away. When the Indian Peaks are visible on a clear day, the backgrounds practically photograph themselves.
Getting the Most from Your Longmont Session
Timing matters a lot in Longmont. Summer evenings at Union Reservoir are magic, but they're also popular. I know the angles and the quieter spots. For family sessions, I usually recommend late afternoon, when the sun drops low enough to give everything that warm glow without making anyone squint.
I'm based in Boulder, so Longmont is an easy drive for me. No travel fees, no complicated scheduling. Just tell me what you need, where you want to shoot, and I'll handle the rest.
